There’s no hidden mystique to the French banking system. Many Brits are wary of using one because of the language barrier and a fear of the unknown. If you know the system, however, they are remarkably easy to deal with and we have completed many introductions leading to successful mortgage applications.
Here in the south west of France, we enjoy a very good working relationship with several banks, both in Toulouse and Rodez, and are able to organise introductions and accompanied visits, if required, to assist with opening accounts and applying for mortgages.
It is also not obligatory to have a French address to open a bank account.
